Sales Person

A Sales Person is someone who sells your goods or services and handles customer relationships. In ERPNext, Sales Persons may also be a sales team member, business development executive, or account manager.

Sales Persons are defined in a hierarchical way in ERPNext, meaning you can define a top-level Sales Person (or Sales Manager) and then define other Sales Persons as subordinates underneath. This hierarchy assists in organizing sales teams, assigning territories, and in evaluating team performance.

To view the list of Sales Persons, click on:

Home > Selling > Settings > Sales Person

Or

Home > CRM > Settings > Sales Person

1. How to make a Sales Person

  1. Go to the Sales Person list and click New.
  2. Enter Sales Person Name.
  3. Select the associated Employee record (optional, though strongly advisable as this links the Sales Person to HR data such as attendances, payroll etc and also entry of personal records).
  4. Check the Group Node box if you wish to make this Sales Person a parent node for other Sales Persons to be created under them. For instance, you might have a National Sales Head as a group node and Regional Sales Executives as their subordinates.
  5. Click on Create New to save the record.

  • Target Distribution (monthly/ quarterly distribution)

ERPNext is set up automatically to track the success of Sales Person towards such targets and create reports to determine performance.
